Maths Curriculum
Our maths curriculum is designed to develop fluency, reasoning, problem solving and an ability to undertake investigations, these skills can then be applied across other areas of the curriculum. It is seen as essential to everyday life and these links are made apparent wherever possible. It is also valued as necessary for an individual’s financial literacy and most forms of employment. Through our maths teaching we aim to provide a foundation for understanding the world, the ability to reason mathematically, an appreciation of the beauty and power of mathematics, an appreciation of maths in the world around us, and a sense of enjoyment and curiosity about the subject.
We use the White Rose Scheme of Work as a basis for our maths teaching in classrooms, supplementing this with a variety of resources from other areas, to ensure that children are able to apply their knowledge confidently in a variety of contexts, problems and investigations.
